60ml Universal Container No label polystyrene

Manufactured from virgin non-cytotoxic polystyrene. These 60ml Universal containers are CE marked in accordance with the European directive 98/79/EC. For In Vitro use only. Unique leak-tight cap ensures exceptional leak- proof seal.
A process validation has been carried out on these disposable plastic specimen containers to ensure they are leak-proof under a pressure differential of not less 95 kPa (0.95 bar,14 psi). The specimen containers were tested following the below procedure in accordance with US standard Department of Transportation Code Federal Regulations (CFR) Title 49, Parts 100-185 (October 2011, Edition): The primary receptacle or secondary packaging used for infectious substances must be capable of withstanding, without leakage, an internal pressure producing a differential of not less than 95 kPa (0.95 bar,14 psi).

The detailed process is as follows:
1. Mark all samples with Numbers ready for testing;
2. Fill all containers with coloured carbonated fluid minimum of 98% full;
3. Put the containers into Vacuum Chamber/Receptacle and adjust the Vacuum to be 95 kPa (0.95 bar, 14 psi) for 10 minutes. During the process, a visual inspection is carried out for single or streams of air bubbles and the findings recorded.
4. After 10 minutes, take out all samples and place them on a surface covered in white bench protection upside down and inspect to see if there is coloured carbonated fluid leakage. Any leakage is considered to be a failure and is rejected.

Having passed this test means these universal containers are suitable for sample transport according to UN3373 packaging instruction when combined with appropriate secondary and tertiary packaging e.g.. 95kPa transport bags or biohazard bags
